The Loose Tooth

A kid with a loose tooth,
Can’t help but wiggle and shake,
With every little movement,
It feels like it might break.

The tooth fairy’s on the way,
To leave a coin under the bed,
But the anticipation of it all,
Fills the child with dread.

Each day is a waiting game,
As the tooth wiggles to and fro,
It’s hard to eat, hard to speak,
And the discomfort starts to grow.

But despite the pain and worry,
The child can’t help but smile,
Knowing that soon enough,
The tooth will be gone in a while.

So they wiggle and they twist,
And they hope for the best,
Excited for the moment,
When the tooth fairy will bring a new quest.

And though it’s just a tiny thing,
A loose tooth can mean so much,
A symbol of growth and change,
A sign of a life in touch.

So here’s to the kids with loose teeth,
May their days be filled with joy,
As they wait for the next big step,
In the journey of girl or boy.
