The Rock In The Meadow

Once upon a time, in a green and peaceful meadow, there lived a little girl named Alice. Alice loved to explore the meadow, and she always kept her eyes peeled for new and exciting discoveries.

One sunny day, as Alice was wandering through the meadow, she spotted something shiny on the ground. It was a pretty rock, glittering in the sunlight. Alice picked it up and marveled at its beauty. It was the most beautiful rock she had ever seen.

Alice decided to take the rock home with her. She carefully placed it in her pocket and set off towards her house, feeling happy and excited about her new discovery.

As soon as Alice got home, she showed the rock to her mother. “Look, Mommy! I found this pretty rock in the meadow,” she said, holding it up for her mother to see.

Her mother gasped when she saw the rock. “Oh my goodness, Alice,” she said. “That’s not just any rock. That’s a precious gemstone! It’s worth a lot of money.”

Alice was surprised to hear this. She had never thought about the value of the rock. She had only been attracted to its beauty. But now, she began to feel conflicted. She didn’t want to give up the pretty rock that she had found, but she also didn’t want to be selfish.

Alice thought and thought about what to do. Finally, she decided to do something kind with the rock. She took it to her neighbor’s house, who loved to collect pretty stones, and gave it to her as a gift.

The neighbor was delighted to receive the beautiful gemstone, and she thanked Alice for her kindness. Alice felt happy knowing that the rock would be appreciated and loved by someone else.

And so, Alice learned an important lesson. She learned that sometimes, the value of something goes beyond its price. That the beauty of something can be shared and enjoyed by others. And most importantly, she learned the joy that comes from doing something kind for someone else.
